KEY & CLICK · OPEN DOCUMENTATION

About this tool

Key & Click offers browser-based keyboard, mouse and gamepad tests. Choose a tool to see the input your browser receives, then use the explanations to interpret the observations.

What it can tell you

See observed and untested keys, try simultaneous presses, and compare separate taps with automatic hold repeats. A missing event is a useful clue, not proof of a broken key. Browser and system shortcuts may intercept input. The tool cannot certify a keyboard, identify every hardware model, or measure hardware latency or USB polling rate.

Reference diagrams, not device identification

Interface language, printed legends and physical key arrangement are separate choices. Our diagrams use documented reference layouts; individual keyboards can differ. Automatic suggestions remain editable. Exclude a key from coverage only when it is physically absent, not simply because it has not responded.

Sources and corrections

Sources & method explains how the counters and suggestions work. Changelog records implemented changes. Data corrections distinguishes corrected mistakes from clarified limitations. References support specific decisions; their publishers do not certify or endorse this tool. We describe software checks and physical-device testing separately.

Make a possible correction reproducible

Record your keyboard model, OS and browser version, selected layout and geometry, and what happened compared with what you expected. Key details shows the original code, key and location reported by your browser. Use harmless test keys and include a manufacturer reference when available. A test report can help preserve your observations without the recent character history.
